Thursday, November 14th was almost like every other Thursday, except this was the day that Maybach Music rapper Rick Ross brought his Mastermind Tour to the Orpheum Theatre in Boston. Following the opening sets (1500 Or Nothin' Band and DJ Samsneak), the room was filled up with fans eager to see their favorite rapper Rozay. CONCERT REVIEW: Cher Lloyd at Topsfield Fair

On October 12th, Cher Lloyd brought her UK fame to Topsfield, MA for a great show. Cher may have been eliminated near the end of her “X Factor” career back in 2010, but that didn’t stop her. Since then, her fan base has been growing both in the UK and here in the States. Lloyd’s fame in the United States came back in May 2012 when her third single “Want U Back” rocketed to the top of the charts.

The show at the historic Topsfield Fair was the last date in Cher’s fall “I Wish” tour, and her fans were there to represent. The “Oath” singer came out right on time to a crowd of over a thousand singing her first single, “Swagger Jagger”. Following that, Cher Lloyd sang mostly songs from her first album “Sticks and Stones”, however, there were a few new ones that haven’t been released!

Towards the middle of the show, Cher took a seat and sang a few acoustic covers like “Breathing” by Jason Derulo, “OMG” by Usher (my personal favorite), and more. This part of the show was interesting because all of the fans stood and admired her singing rather than screaming and dancing like other songs- a really nice way to break up a show.

The UK star ended her show with hits like “Oath”, “I Wish”, and “With Your Love”, but it was obvious the crowd favorite was “Want U Back”. Adorable Cher Lloyd was dancing around on the stage singing her most popular song while her fans sang and danced along with her.

Cher Lloyd’s show at the Topsfield Fair proved that she has the potential to be a key-figure in the world of pop music. Her singing and stage persona emitted a feeling of happiness that was contagious. Feel free to browse the gallery below for all of the photos from the night.

Mixfest 2013 Photo Review

This past Saturday (9/14), I attended Boston station Mix 104.1's annual free event, MixFest. Each and every year, Mix brings some of the world's hottest acts to the Boston area to perform at the Hatch Shell on the Charles River. This year, Gavin DeGraw, Backstreet Boys, and Of Monsters and Men graced the Beantown stage, along with "15 Seconds of Fame" winner Alex Preston, drawing an estimated crowd of over 30,000. The first full act of the show was RCA Recording Artist Gavin DeGraw. He sang a variety of his best songs, along with new music off of his upcoming album "Make A Move" out October 15th. During his performance, he came out into the crowd, which made all of the girls go into a frenzy! Backstreet Boys were next, and while their performance was quite short (4-5 songs) it wasn't one to forget. When the five guys came on stage, they emitted a contagious energy that spread throughout the crowd. Last up was Icelandic-alternative band Of Monsters and Men. This was definitely the highlight of the night for me, and for the rest of the crowd. Even when they weren't playing a high energy song, the crowd was dancing like there was no tomorrow. They ended their set with one of their most popular songs, "Little Talks".

Overall, a very fun event. This was my first MixFest, and I now can say that it certainly won't be my last! Check out the photo gallery below to get a full "review" of the show. Were you in any of the pics below? Be sure to tell us what you thought of the event!
